Baseball Best - Ervin Santana No Hitter

Since there was a big accomplishment in my favorite sport yesterday I felt it necessary to write a post. The goal of a pitcher in baseball is first and foremost to help the team win the game. After the win, personal goals are what you strive to achieve. Yesterday Ervin Santana achieved one of those personal goals. The Angels pitcher threw a complete game no-hitter beating the Cleveland Indians 3-1.
Being a former college pitcher I can really appreciate his accomplishment yesterday. Ervin's performance was quite amazing. He pitched the complete game against the Cleveland Indians striking out 10 and only walking 1 batter. His performance to say the least was dominating. His location on his pitches was pin point accurate all game long and his stuff was electric. The closest anyone from the Indians came to getting a hit was in the 6th inning when Jason Kipnis hit a hard ground ball up the middle that second baseman Howie Kendrick made a great play on to take away the hit. Other than that no other Indians batters even came close.
Ervin Santana's no hitter was only the 9th in the Angels 50 year history of the ball club and the first in the last 27 years. That is pretty impressing considering 4 of those 9 no hitters came from some guy named Nolan Ryan. My congratulations goes out to the Angels organization and especially to Ervin Santana for an amazing game pitched yesterday.
